If you do not live close don't fear, you still have a broad spectrum of options when it comes to renewing your Pennsylvania driver's license. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) gives you the choice of renewing by mail, online, or in person. You'll need to renew your driver's license every four years (every two years if you're 65 or over).
Realizing that license renewal does not top most people's to-do lists, PennDOT conveniently notifies every driver by mail several weeks in advance that their license needs to be updated. To ease the process, a renewal application is included with every notification. In summary, you have 3 main options for renewing your PA driver's license:
- Online
- By Mail
- In Person
Below is a short list of renewal fees:
- Four-year license renewal: $26
- Four-year license renewal with motorcycle: $46
- Two-year license renewal (65 years old and over): $15.50
- Two-year license renewal with motorcycle (65 years old and over): $25.50
